Newcastle is a great and safe city for a night out, especially at Christmas, but don’t let a night out ruin the rest of your life.

And remember, the consequences can be severe if you get involved in any sort of violence. You may end up with a criminal record or worse.

• Street Pastors (an independent Christian charity) are there to help you, offering practical help or a listening ear.
