How Bluetooth works

Bluetooth is a short-range radio communication that allows the transmission of messages to Bluetooth devices such as mobile phones. Most mobiles have this technology.

We broadcast a signal in Central Station that Bluetooths phones can pick up. A message is sent to phones within the download zone in the station asking if they would like to download a message from Safe Newcastle. If the customer opt-ins, they receive a an evoucher from us, with details of participating venues.

With 48,000 people using the station each day, this is an excellent opportunity to target commuters and visitors to the city.
