• Hackney taxis have a red City Council crest on front doors and a red plate at the back
• check the driver has a licensed badge

Private Taxis

• only get into taxis you have booked
• find out from the taxi company the make and model of car when you book it
• check the signage of the taxi is the company you booked
• check the driver knows your name and destination before you get in
