The main aim of the scheme is for licensed premises to work in partnership with the authorities, including the police, the council and fire service to make Newcastle a safer city to live, work, visit and socialise. By working together, we can ensure that the many visitors and residents to Newcastle have a fun and safe night.

Accredited venues can expect:

• the opportunity to prove that you run a safe and responsible licensed premises to a high standard

• the chance to play your part in creating a safer city

• to prove that you are serious about working in partnership with the relevant authorities

• publicity - we will promote accredited venues

• an outdoor plaque to display to customers

• the use of the Best Bar None logo on all your promotional material

• the top scoring venues will be shortlisted for special awards

• all accredited venues can enter the Metro Radio Listeners' Choice category

• guidance and support from dedicated Best Bar None Officers, Angie Maxwell and Murray Cassisdy from Northumbria Police's Licensing Team
